It's always amazing to see such ancient things in daily life at present! Living history! Here they surely would have been exchanged a long long time ago..
What treasures they still have in this area! Yes, the doorway must have millions of stories to tell!
I never noticed the "IHS". So if I should see it one day somewhere I know... Is it always accompanied by a bird and the other symbol on the right side??

That symbol is on the lintel is on many if not most, medieval houses in this region. I believe it's the symbol for Jesus Christ.

So far as I could see this house is indeed lived in. There was a name on the door - another time, I'll investigate further. Quite probably, inside there are apartments but the doorway and entrance cannot be changed for historic reasons - thank goodness.
