Too many people at the Chestnut Fête - let's escape - let's wander the village.
Here we are in one of the main streets - you see a notice on the wall saying that Romain Gary, the French writer and diplomat lived here. He lived down this little impasse with his wife of the time - the writer, Lesley Blanch. Romain died long ago but Lesley died only last year in Menton.
