The Carpet Shaker

We are way up the top of the Old Town of Ventimiglia where many people still do things the old way.

  3. Reminds me of a trip to Italy because the housekeeper in our villa did the same thing, every morning. A slice of life photo.

  5. A slice of French life. Perfect Jilly. The cigarette adds a little more to it! Reminds me of Nathalie's post about whether we had ever missed a photo opportunity. I did last summer on Ile St. Louis. I was doing a walking photo tour with Meredith Mullins. I spotted a gentleman shaking his tablecloth out the window. I shot it quickly but it was blurry. Meredith gave me an "A" for effort!

    Save this photo as well!!!

  7. Wonderful snapshot!
(Ventimiglia in Liguria, I suppose, or is there one in France too?)

In Rome we had a balcony "di servizio" where the housekeepers were allowed to shake the rugs or anything during the morning hours, before eleven I think to remember.

  10. Merisi, yes Ventimiglia in Liguria. It's just across the border from Menton. I often go to the market there to shop - many do - and from Monaco.
