Facade
Part of the facade of the Basilica seen thru an archway of the Old Town. Following on from yesterday's post, this is where the Festival of Music is held each August. Tiered seating is built for the audience, with a large platform for the musicians extending over the steps in front of the entrance to the church.

Jilly, you could have told us you took this picture in Italy ! Architecture, statues in their niche, pavements, arch, light rose shade ...... all reminds a delightful Italian square with a gentle way of life feeling.

Everything has such a wonderful patina. And I love that open portal, that vertical rectangle of black. Jilly, you do such amazing work.
