Paint effect

A door in the Old Town. I've worked in the past, sponge or rag in hand, trying to create the look of this old wall at home. Here you get the real thing created by time and weather.

Update today on Mistral and Mia - Postcards from 'Pension Milou.'

l'effet rend très bien, une belle photo, ou on sent les craquelures du temps

At the same time ugly and beautiful. Great shot.

Le temps qui passe....
Beautiful effect.

Sorry I don't comment every day but a belated compliment too on your "beach with mimosa" shot - the larger view is already quite interesting but the tighter crop is intriguing, somewhat spooky - truly stunning!

Lovely. I have a table that I 'aged' and it turned out pretty well. Didn't have time to wait for the real thing!

Why would you want to do that? Aged is in over there?

hello from the Auvergne, my first visit to your blog! I do love the south of france colours, I used to live in the Herault and could see the colourful weathering patterns, but here it is more a mouldy greenish hue and not so pretty.

The aged look is something not everyone takes to, but in the right room it can look fabulous. Out of doors like here it just looks neglected, but I like the colors.

I love not only the aged door, but the aged wall in which the door is set. And the fresh eye that makes such a sensitive composition out of it all.

Time has put its indelible mark. It makes part of the charm of the Old Menton.

Oh Jilly, I deleted my first comment because i wrote it before I read about our dear Mistral. Pass the Kleenex please. You gave her so much love and care and made her last months so very good for her. Bless you.

Lack of paint creates this effect! Lol!

Tres beau. I love those doors (or windows) on old buildings.

Les lieux un peu dégradés font souvent les plus belles photos. Je trouve cette porte magnifique !
