Fête du Citron: Cinema - La Serenissima

Venice comes to Menton! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these figures in the carnival. La Serenissima - surely THE most beautiful city in the world.

I hate to admit my ignorance, but what about this costume tells the viewer it represents Venice?

Carolyn, Venice is famous for its masked carnival - Mardi Gras. Type Mardi Gras Venice into Google.

An unexpected theme. As you know I'm not a fan of the macabre.

Wow. What an impressive costume and collar this lady (dare I say lady?) has on. The smaller photo shows some faces that scare me.

Amazing costumes, although a bit macabre!

That's an astonishing costume. Looking at all of the carnival photos, I'm so impressed with the quality of the work everyone did, so marvelous looking. Here it's all bright colors and silliness, this is so much more sophisticated.
