Sospel - the 'Tabac'

Looks like this old shop hasn't sold a packet of cigarettes in a long time ...

~~~~~
Il semble que dans cette vieille boutique, on n'a pas vendu un paquet de cigarettes depuis longtemps ...
Maybe not, but no shame. I'm a non-smoker, and it sure makes a beautiful black and white.
I love the feel of the black & white photo. Maybe the owner should change the sign to feature a product other than tobacco and diversify the products sold. It is a good thing if less tobacco is sold.
"dans son jus" (in its original condition) would a antique dealer say. Just wonderful.
I love this kind of photos / photo motives! Here I prefer the coloured one. In my opinion it shows the contrast between "dead + alive" better. Though the shop seems to be closed there still must be life behind the windows as there are the plants.
Jilly, this reminds me a bit of the corner shop in Beausoleil, the one run by a very old lady who decorated the complete shop and windows with pictures of the Grimaldis... So special! A real fan! And coward me didn't dare to step in and talk to her!!
Maybe you can show it here one day, too!? :-)
I was expecting to see the traditional red carrot sign outside to indicate a 'tabac'. I love the feeling of another time long past.
If I had lived in the neighbourhood, maybe the shop would still be open? :-)
