You never know what exotic fruit or vegetable you'll find in Ventimiglia's market. These are called 'babaco' - a type of papaya.

They look colourful... I've never tried papaya, so I'd have no idea what this type would be like.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance I thought these were a mutant cross, bred from bananas, lemons and hot peppers. Worth a try if they are still in the market in two months.
