The Cat Show - Whiskers Revealed

Here's the cat we met yesterday. He's a Silver Exotic Shorthair (thanks Alistair). I couldn't resist him or her and can see I might get to like cats...

...actually I do like cats and used to have two when I lived in mid-Wales. They were called Marmalade and Custard and they made the move with me to a village in Kent, along with 1o Old English Sheepdogs, a newly-born litter of puppies, two goats and 15 Love Birds. Unfortunately, I lived on a difficult bend on the road in the village and sadly both cats ended up being killed by cars.

  2. I've been enjoying your philosophizing and bits of personal history, as well as the pictures of course, over the last few days.

  3. Dina, yes, I'm not quite sure why I'm rattling on like this - must be feeling reflective for some odd reason. It's interesting how things trigger memories - really tho it has nothing at all to do with Menton which is the focus of the blog.

  4. My black cat was run over by a car when it was only 1 year old. I had it since it was born. So I can understand that. I thought of it these days while reading about the cats here... The one you show us today looks very cuddly! And it has a very nice eye colour!

  5. I can just imagine life with this amazing cat. You are a terrific cat portraitist among other things, Jilly!

  6. Lovely, Jilly. But the car business...this is why my cat (& others over the years) lives inside.

Have enjoyed this series very much. But why do you say it has nothing to do with Menton? The show took place there, yes? Or perhaps I missed something. Anyway, I take a broad view of these sorts of things. Perhaps I'm being undisciplined...(perfectly possible).

    Ciao!

  7. Giulia, thanks for visiting - so glad you are enjoying the cats. I mentioned it had nothing to do with Menton, in relation to my reminiscing about my life. Not the cat show, yes the cat show took place in Menton. I meant me going on about me!

  8. Hi Jilly, really enjoyed your series of cat show shots, the indignities of being examined and all, my goodness, we have two cats, and I didn't think they could be trained...

So sorry to hear of the fate the befell your felines, we do get very attached to these creatures that share our lives...

  9. Being a cat lover I've really enjoyed this series of photos. Though this pedigrees put my moggie to shame.

How long did you live in the UK for? And 10 Old English Sheepdogs?! Blimey! Bet they kept you busy!

  13. I'm with Marley regarding the pedigrees. My Sebastian had enough attitude to more than make up for any piece of paper! LOL!!

Sad to hear about your sheep dog's feline companions. Hard to keep them out of the road when they're out and about on their own.
