78th Fete du Citron - the 5000 Euro Orange Tree
Alongside all the amazing displays in the Jardin Bioves, you'll find oranges and lemons for sale - and orange and lemon trees too. How about this one for 5000 euros. It's a mature tree and perhaps a rare variety but that's a lotta money...

Aren't the citrus colours wonderful?!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of money for an orange tree.
ReplyDeletele verre de jus d'orange doit etre hors de prix ;))
ReplyDeleteWow! Whole Foods is selling Sumo mandarines for $ 2.99 a pound. I saw they at Marukai (Japanese market) for $ 1.99 each. They are delicious! So maybe 5000 euros for a mature tree is the right price?
ReplyDeleteo.O wow! That must be some tree! I hope it bears golden fruit!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the lemon festival! I enjoyed watching and reading of it... :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful at any price. I remember the first time I bought lemonade at the festival and declined the proffered sugar. Big Mistake.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it's a price?! It's really expensive, and I don't think any orange tree is worth so much money! This being said, the first picture gives the desire to bite it and to eat the fruit! :)
ReplyDeleteThe top photo is flawless.
ReplyDeleteExpensive, I believe, on any market.
ReplyDeleteAh, but isn't it glorious that the value of maturity has been recognized, at least in the pricing of this particular tree.
