Christmas Fair - Honey

The Christmas Fair is a great place to buy gifts, the majority of which are created by artisans. You'll not find mass production here. Many stall holders are specialists - here you see part of the honey stall.

Which flavour of honey do you prefer?

  3. Funny! I just had a spoonful of honey (sore throat today), and I opened your blog to find the honey photo!

One of my husband's reporters has bees and bottled his own honey this year. I forget what kind it was, but it was really good.

I like wildflower or orange blossom

  6. Which one of those flavors do you prefer, Jilly? Is the lavender honey too strong?

I just opened a jar of miel de bruyère and, to be honest, I don't like it at all, too strong, almost like molasses.

  8. Oh, how lovely to see this. I used to be a beekeeper after taking over my father's apiaries! Loved it but then my late husband became allergic to the stings and we had to give it up.

Clover is my favourite flavour but I love any of them.

  9. Which reminds me, we're out of honey! I miss the vendors who sell this nectar-of-the-Gods in our summer farmers' market so I am reduced to buying it at the supermarket now. Bummer!

  10. Oh I think I would have a wonderful time here! I loooove lavender honey so that would definitely be in my shopping basket.

I'd probably look for a mint honey as well. I purchased a small jar of mint honey when I was in Florence a few years back and it was absolutely wonderful on...hard water-crackers with cream cheese (of all things!)
