one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
The majority of shutters in Menton are painted, often a pale turquoise. A stained shutter is less usual. This one in the Old Town, is brightened up with what is, I suppose, a Christmas decoration.
How nice to see wooden shutters again. We used to have them, but now plastic shutters have taken over. Unlike wood, they get brittle after a few years in strong sun and break.
I think the Christmas decoration should keep away pigeons... :)Sven
It is pretty and well color coordinated ( :-)Very nice.
Love the colour! Great shot!!
Nice splash or rather twirl, I guess, of color!
It's not so Christmas-y that it can't stay there the whole year. Love the wooden shutters and the bright colors.
I remember these shutters. They look really nice.
We saw a lot of dark stained shutters in the countryside. I love the ochre of this wall. Lovely composition Jilly.V
Those spiral things are everywhere here or were last summer. We even had one. I really don't understand why we got it because the sun bleached it out and the wind frayed the seams.
Yes... that works well!! A nice photo, Jilly!
I'm married to a woodworker so I am happy to see the stained shutter.
