Wings

She sits in the old cemetery of Menton, forever looking down over the Mediterranean.

'Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings.'

I wonder what the angel is reading.
Such a pensive face.

Indeed, nice and peaceful..
But is she really reading? I think she's far away with her thoughts...

Love statuary like this, Jilly. Especially with the black mould draped over her shoulder.

Re the comment on Australia Day. You have been living in the south of France for what, 17 years now. What nationality are you now?

Julie, I have British and Australian nationality but I live here under my Brit passport cos it's so much easier with the European Union.

What an angel. That top image elicited from me that sound humans make when we see something we truly admire.

You choose the perfect angle and the colour for this first shot. Your sight is so original, and unusual. Hugo adds even more poetry to the scene. It's a gem.
