Fête des Limaces - the Prie-Dieu

Earlier in the day of the Fête des Limaces, the village prepares for the evening. Altars are set up in several places - this one stands in front of the 300 year old elm tree.

This little girl had been playing with other children in the square and decided she needed to sit down - so why not use the prie dieu?  She got up when she saw me but then returned to let me take her photo.

    The 2nd photo is great!
Little princess and her feet turned to the middle just like the girl you photographed the other day! ;-)
Btw. are these the normal festive clothes for little girls in the south? Here in Germany you would never see girls dressed like that...

  7. We in the US sometimes hear hear that France has become more and more secular. Perhaps not so much in rural villages.

  8. Jilly you're outdoing yourself with this new series on the fête des limaces. Thes two child portraits, one seated, one running, complement each other beautifully. They are both divine.

And the candid shot of the penitents seated near the church was snapped just at the right time. Too funny!
