A Ride on the Big Wheel - Steeples

We're high up on the Big Wheel and looking towards the steeples of the Old Town. Instead of looking up at those palms, they are below us. And notice the arches in the bottom centre - they lead to Place des Herbes.

We see a corner of the beautiful Moorish market building on the left. High up on the left, we see the cemetery - enlarge the photo and we can just see the top of beautiful Russian chapel. And on the right, the autoroute which would put us in Italy in just a few minutes.

  4. This is a marvelous shot, Jilly. What a great point of view. Do the cars rock at all as the wheel goes round?

  5. What a beautiful city. I think I see that Russian chapel at the top on the left of the photo. The site of the highway on the right makes me want to take that road.

  10. Brattcat, No, the wheel didn't rock, as such. When it stopped to allow people to get off, it juddered slightly and then was still - then I could take a photo! I wish there had been more people onboard so it stopped more often. We got 4 revolutions for 2.5 euros so that was pretty good. Not scary. It's not as high as it looks actually. Apparently two years ago there was a much taller one.
