Cimitière du Vieux Château

Yesterday's photograph was taken from one of the lower levels of the Old Cemetery. You can see the two steeples here and in that photograph.

Here we are looking down at the cemetery from the gardens of a house near to the Camping Saint Michel - a lovely part of Menton called Les Ciappes (near to le Fossan) and with wonderful views, as you see. The road you see is the Route de Castellar, a village way above Menton.

I love the effect of that sky on this panoramic view. The Old Cemetery has an ecellent location: maybe not so interesting for the 'guests' but surely for the visitors.

Ciappes, Fossan, Castellar.....it sounds good to my ears.
This cimetery is a summary of Menton History.
Have a nice week-end, Jilly.

Lovely sight. I so wish I'd live near an ocean, especially in this setting. Have a great weekend.

Wonderful scenery. It's amazing to think that this beautiful hill is a cemetery.

The view and the photo are gorgeous. In former times, people were not afraid of death and they did not hide their cemeteries. In Sète also there is a cemetery "en hauteur"....
