May in Menton - Cistus

Cistus is such a good Mediterranean plant. Flowers like paper, petals falling, more flowers arrive.

Not to say less of the other two, but I think that the first image is a masterpiece. You found the perfect colours as background of these cistus flowers.

These are pretty. Have seen them, but I didn't know what they were called. They look like a blend of Rose-of-Sharon and wild rose.

I agree with Vogon Poet, the blossoms and greens against the blue shutters and cream wall make a striking image.

They say the most beautiful flowers arrive on a Friday.
(Men always buy women flowers on a Friday, n'est-ce pas ? )

This clear blue-green and this bright pink, what a nice association.

Very pretty flowers. I like the second picture, the closeup of the single flower. I agree with the others that the first picture is beautiful with the pink cistus against the light blue shutters.

Beautiful blossoms! I've been in a black mood since I returned NOB from sun, sand, and surf. I think I need to live in a different location. Your flowers perked me up a bit!

Rock roses! I love these plants, and this one, the pink with magenta, is glorious. (The white petals with red center is not so dramatic.) I once had several large bushes of the pink variety but a freeze here on the Oregon coast wiped them out. Thanks for the photo!
