Ste. Agnès: Fête de Lavande - Childhood

Remember the folk dancing? These two children give it their fullest attention. Are they local children, who would have seen it all before, or visitors who have perhaps never seen a village festival like this. Folk dancing must seem a million miles from what they probably watch on television. Are they loving it or wishing they were listening to rap music?

"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.”
- Elizabeth Lawrence

Refreshing to see young kids interested in something that is happening in real life rather than on a screen! Superb capture.

They are either entranced or remarkably well-behaved. What a fabulous portrait of two children.

Anything but Rap music. Hard to tell if they are enthralled or bored.

They are too young to be interested in rap music.

What a lovely portrait Jilly. The light is perfect as well. Ahhhhh. No Rap, please!!! ( BTW, it's not music in my book!)

Jilly, I wonder if you shouldn't have cropped the photo back to a standard landscape format, getting rid of the overexposed bottom part of the photo?
The two young faces are what the focus needs to be on. They are wonderful.

Nathalie I did consider that because obviously it's photographically a fault, but I love the way the little boy's hands are in repose, so I left it.

Nathalie - I've cropped it - much better. Many thanks, mon chere amie xxx

Oh, such a sweet little girl and a stunning older woman! All the faces tell a story - at least one in my mind.

Nothing beats that lovely older lady with the crippled hands at the wedding last year, though.
