The Veolia Boat

Copyright 2009 Menton Daily Photo. All rights reserved

We are standing not far from the Italian border looking towards the Old Town of Menton. This little bay provides protection from jellyfish with a net and the man in the boat is checking to ensure there are no holes in the netting and that the water is clean.

Veolia is the name of the water company - provider of household water but also in charge of keeping the sea clean.

I slept on this beach once, as a student.... Woke up all damp and stiff, but the view, like this one, was magnificent.

And what is the blonde woman doing?

Nothing quite like a jellyfish sting to put a damper on a nice swim.

Now that the tourists and the heat are gone, it must be wonderful to have the beach almost to oneself.

Nice that they can offer that service.

Jellyfish nets?? No kidding! Can you send some nets and Veolia boats to Israel's Mediterranean beaches? We sure need them.
