The Ruelle

Narrow streets, steps, a tiny bridge joining one old house to another, and of course a mass of wiring - in other words, a ruelle in Roquebrune village. Even a couple of Père Noels get in on the act.

Ruelle - such a pretty word. It translates as alley-way.

  5. I'm disappointed I did not take the time to look around Roquebrune, I passed it quite a few times whilst riding towards Monaco etc. Next time I'll stop by and look around!

  6. What an enchanting and whimsical shot. I love the way the eye ascends this little passageway and those jolly red santas gently tugging at our attention as we move past them.

  9. Next time we see each other, Jilly, let's go to Roquebrune (what nice name too)....I've never been there, already. I'll like this place, no doubt.

  10. But such a pretty alley!
Haha, and I thought that kind of tangle of wires could only be found in Asia. ;)

  12. Something tells me the original architects didn't have high speed internet and cable TV in mind when they built these structures. The wires are a mess, but they add to the photo.
