Sun, Shade and Silhouettes in Gorbio

Gorbio village. They knew what they were doing in medieval times when they built houses with such thick walls. The sun slams down yet the village stays shady and cool.

Built to last, love the shutters and the plants on the stairs. A picture perfect photo and a beautiful village. I wish the Villa Mer et Mont was not crumbling though, and built to last but the sea is taking it slowly unless some one rescues it. Wish it were me saving it from its fate. Still love that villa,
Joanny

Jilly, even looking at (and reading) this post gives respite from the summer heat.

Charming scene, and an extraordinary challenge to photograph, with the extreme contrast between light and shade. Well done.
