These runners look so healthy! Especially now since the run is over!! It must all be worthwhile when one of the end results is a gathering such as this.
You really capture that after-race coziness between individual competitors. Each has been racing against his/her own self. And now the runners turn from minding the internal machine to cultivating the niceties of social interaction. Excellent post.
Oh ! Jilly ! I would have liked to participate only for the refreshments.

After the race, they deserve the refreshments, and a shower and massage.
