Theme Day: 'Big' - the 2000 year old Olive Tree

Copyright 2009 Menton Daily Photo. All rights reserved.

This 2000 year old olive tree is BIG. You'll find it in the medieval village of Roquebrune. The small photo shows the massive size of the root system - perhaps you remember this photo of the four bloggers who visited Menton last May. Who are they? Click on link for details.

Once again it's Theme Day and to find out how other CDP bloggers around the world are interpreting the 'big' theme, please click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

  8. Wow that is the biggest olive tree I've ever seen.
In answer to your question re the 2 aspects of my picture. It was just taken standing behind the statue all in the one shot. I'm not PS skilled enough to put things together afterwards.

  9. Great tree and symbol, Jilly! For me as a Historian, this image is not only great physically. I wonder how many scenes, how many dramas, how many small acts of life that shadow has hosted ...

Great choice! (Thanks for your visit too!)
