Fête des Limaces - the Reposoirs and the Cats

The Penitents Blancs of Gorbio have installed two temporary altars in the village. The one you see in the main photo is under the ancient elm tree, planted in 1713. The second is at the top of the village, opposite the Tour Lascaris - as you can see the cats are having the best fun demolishing the beautiful arrangement. The third is in the Chaeau des Comtes de Malaussene, a beautiful old building normally closed but for special occasions the door to the chapel is opened.

The candles on these three altars will soon be lit.

Cats must be the same everywhere. We have one cat and it goes after any plant brought into the house. So that a gift of a dozen roses will have to be placed on top of the refrigerator to keep him from tearing the roses apart.
