ReplyDeleteNathalie is right, the BW is the one. Sad the effects of smoking and I presume time in the sun have had on his face. Great portrait nonetheless.

Yes! The B&W is indeed the most striking (no pun intended). Is the subject a he or a she...comments use both. I think it's a male, looking like "a tough old bird."

ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for people who have survived, put me in a room with a twenty and eighty year old and I know immediately who I will sit down next to.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am always drawn to B/W, stick to your color original, I like the fact that we can see the interior of the shop, cafe?
Photography is always about capturing a moment, which you did.
It is OK to crop and convert a color to B/W, but never go back and photoshop out details, you do not need to.
I love your work and your blog.

ReplyDeleteBlack and white has to be and I recognize that look myself. The moment of despair when no light to be found.
