'Don't forget your hat, dear!'

You can imagine it, can't you? 'I've put your hat on the gate, darling!' Does this hat belong to an old man, whose wife worries about his bald head burning in the Menton heat? Who do you think owns this hat? I don't know the answer - just snapped it walking up through the Old Town to the cemetery. Below you see more of the house.

  2. I would love to know the story behind the hat. But the just living with the mystery is kind of fun to.

May-be it got blown off in the wind yesterday and it's there for someone to retrieve. I'm loving your photos - I'm in Grasse and have never managed to pop down to Menton - it's on my list once the summer rush of tourists is over!

I suspect the man is having an affair with the occupant and this is a signal of some kind. Perhaps the host is occupied?

    Nice photos.

Wonderful shot with so many shades of pink - which is probably the color that the resident's head will be, after running around all day without his hat.

  8. Maybe someone found the hat and recognized whom it belong to so he/she kindly left it on his fence.

  10. You guys have such dirty minds!Lol! :)

Maybe the lady of the house was outside in the garden when a visitor passed by. They chatted at the gate, where the visitor took off his/her hat and then the lady invited the visitor in for chocolate chaud. :-)

I just love the picture Jilly. It looks like something out of a book.

  12. I rarely wear a hat but yes I could imagine leaving it on a gate and then remembering half an hour later and having to back track to find it again
